In the first Dragonfly for Industry webinar of 2025, our focus is on porosity analysis. Dragonfly 3D World allows users to analyze porosity using a wide range of simple-to-use tools, and this webinar will demonstrate several of the most popular Dragonfly tools in a live demo, on realistic samples.
The webinar will cover everything from simple automated thresholding and quantification, to more advanced functions such as separating open/closed porosity, performing 2D analysis on 3D data, and using AI-assisted methods both to overcome typical CT artifact challenges and to allow automation. Some discussion and references to further training and reading materials will be included.
About the presenter:
Prof Anton du Plessis is Global Business Development Manager at Comet Technologies Canada Inc. He is passionate about the use of X-ray tomography for advanced materials analysis. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the Elsevier journal Tomography of Materials and Structures and holds an extraordinary appointment as Associate Professor at Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
The Dragonfly for Industry webinar series is aimed at showcasing the most useful tools in Dragonfly's software for industrial applications. It takes a simple approach suitable for beginner users, but can be used by experienced users as a refresher. Some advanced topics are included to enhance the experience for experienced users, and to give new users an idea of the extensive capabilities of the software.
